Friends of the World Food Program (Friends of WFP) is a US-based nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that focuses on building support in the United States for the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) and other hunger relief operations. Friends of WFP unites organizations and individuals committed to solving world hunger. Our education, advocacy, and fundraising efforts in the United States support WFP’s life-saving global food assistance and development programs.
There are many ways to get involved with Friends of WFP. Simply raising awareness about the problem of world hunger is a great help in building support for the efforts of WFP. This might involve writing a letter to the editor or an opinion piece for your local newspaper, contacting your elected representatives and urging them to provide greater support for food assistance, or just telling your friends and family about WFP and the work it does around the world to help the hungry.
The more people who know about the problem of hunger in the world, the more support we can build to end hunger.

Every year, WFP feeds an average of 90 million people, two-thirds of them children, in 80 countries. But the needs of the world’s hungry are greater than WFP’s resources. To continue and expand WFP’s work to feed the hungry, we need your help!
